On a Sunday evening in August, customer Deb Bucia almost lost her husband when he suffered a heart attack at our store in Ephrata, PA (Store #269). Shift Supervisor Devin Gebhard and Salesperson Alex Velazquez immediately stepped in to help. They called the ambulance and remained calm as they helped revive him. Deb said if it wasn’t for the two of them, her
husband would not be alive today. “I don’t feel like I’m a hero,” said Devin. “What I did was what any firefighter or EMT
would’ve done. Even though I was scared, I let my training guide me to the person’s suc- cessful recovery of breathing again.” “When we were getting back to work it all seemed so surreal,” Alex added. “I was so
happy I couldn’t help but cry. I have never felt that way before about another person I didn’t know. It was an amazing feeling knowing that we saved not only a man but a son and husband as well.” Devin and Alex, thank you for showing Total Customer Focus that day and for going above and beyond to help a customer in need!

DNA Pumpkins We had fun at our October store meeting. Employees were split into two groups.
Each group was given a pumpkin and asked to carve it using a Sheetz DNA theme. It worked so well and we had so much fun in the process! We asked an outsider to judge which pumpkin was the best, but it was too hard to choose, so both teams won! Everyone showed excellent teamwork! —Store #389, Canton, OH
