New Addition on Innovation Team

In our December 2010 Family Matters edition, we introduced you to our Innovation Team. This group of visionary thinkers from across the company are working on new ways to help us achieve our Vision, to put Sheetz, as we know it today, out of business. We’re pleased to announce that Jamie Gerhart, real estate site selector from our Real Estate department has since joined the team. We’re looking forward to his contributions and many great ideas to come from this group in the future.

Super WOW

Jane Glick, salesperson at Store #257, Lancaster, PA, proudly announces her son’s graduation from Marine boot camp. After finishing combat training, PFC Daniel Glick proceeded to Pensacola, Florida, where he began training in aviation mechanics.

Congratulations to Jerica Bleyer, a three-year salesperson, for receiving our store’s first Super WOW pin! Jerica has proven herself as such a dependable and hardworking employee. She’s also a real team player. I call her the M•T•O® Machine. Jerica has the ability to sweep through the whole area and it will be clean, organized and ready to go. She never complains, and she works well with all of her fellow employees. She WOW’s me all the time with her initiative and her over and above performance when it comes to staying ready for Quality Assurance. Great job, Jerica! —Cathy Mallon Store Manager, Store #289, Sinking Spring, PA

Congratulations to District Manager Gina Hazelet (District #18) and Salesperson Hilary Scheuermann from Store #369, Homer City, PA. They took 3rd Place in the Hollidaysburg Area YMCA 5K race held at Canoe Creek State Park. For the past three years, Sheetz has been the official food sponsor for these races. From a refrigerated Sheetz truck, we provided fresh fruit, sandwiches, yogurt cups and other runner- friendly items.

Graduation Ceremony

Congratulations to this group of graduates from the Sheetz Associate Manager Training Program! They received in-store training with a Certified Performance Coach, attended M•T•O® University and completed an internship, where they were the acting store manager for a designated time period. To be promoted from the program, each of them participated in a final interview with their regional manager and a representative from the Human Resources department. Congratulations to this group for their hard work and dedication throughout the entire training program. We wish you the best of luck as you continue with your Sheetz career!

Dear Sheetz, We just received your extremely awesome package of coffee and filters! WOW! I was not expecting so much! Unfortunately we cannot brew a pot right now, as our power converter took a turn for the worst this morning. Once we replace it, hopefully this afternoon, my first business is to make a fresh pot! I can’t wait! I cannot tell you how much we appreciate it. Thanks again for your support! Sincerely, MSgt Steve Erb Middle East

12 Family Matters JANUARY

Our store celebrated its second anniversary in September. Reflecting on the past two years, I have realized how truly lucky I am to have such an outstanding crew! I often have customers come to me and tell me what a great job we do or how clean our store is, and my response is always: “Thank you! I have great people. I am very lucky.” That is the most sincere response I could possibly give. I want to let my employees know that any success we have or awards we receive is all because of their hard work and dedication! You guys kick ass! Just wanted to let you all know you are appreciated! —Michelle Lanctot Store Manager, Store #431, North Canton, OH
