Due Diligence

We can evaluate all major areas of liability. These range from the traditional concerns of contaminated land and asbestos, through to current and forthcoming environmental, health and safety legislative compliance. Liabilities could arise from emerging areas of carbon trading and energy efficiency, nanotechnology, supply-chain risks, and corporate social responsibility issues.

Culture and Archaeology Given the rich cultural past of the region the developer must ensure that a proposed project does not impact on any archaeological and/or cultural remains within the site or its immediate environment. We had discussions with appropriate

governmental authorities and bodies such as UNESCO to determine the likelihood of artefacts being in-situ prior to determining the need for management procedures to be developed and enacted.

Environmental Monitoring/ Audit/Management Systems WSP’s involvement in power and water projects extends beyond obtaining initial environmental approval. WSP has worked closely with project companies during the construction and operational phases in order to develop effective environmental management plans and systems and to provide third party objective compliance auditing and reviews. We are well versed in ISO14001 management systems.
