Clarks Appoints New Supply Chain Director


Clarks, the British heritage shoe brand, today announced the appointment of Nick Cullen to the role of Group Supply Chain Director. Nick will become a member of the Executive Leadership Team, reporting to Melissa Potter, Chief Executive. In this newly created role, Nick will work to unify the supply chain organisation for the entire Clarks group in order to deliver improved costs and customer service. His appointment reinforces Clarks’ business strategy of leveraging the scale of the combined UK, North American and international businesses. Nick joins Clarks from his role as Chief Operating Officer of leading UK


airport operator BAA. His background also includes senior roles in manufacturing and distribution with international organisations including Mars, Diageo, DHL and The Gap.

Jacobson Group snaps up Dolcis Following the administration of the Barratts Priceless Group, Jacobson


Group has bought the intellectual property rights to the Dolcis brand. Dolcis is a great complement to the Jacobson stable of brands; it will sit well in the group’s existing portfolio which includes Gola, Lotus, Ravel and Frank Wright. Before finalising the exact details of the Dolcis brand profile moving


forward, Jacobson Group intends to carry out a full review of their portfolio mix in order to ensure the perfect fit in their brand hierarchy. The debut Dolcis collection will be for SS13 and will focus on young female fashion with a view to moving into other categories in future seasons. Tony Evans, Jacobson Group managing director confirmed that heritage will be a key marketing tool, “The Dolcis brand dates back to 1863 and already we have started to develop a great archive of material which we’ll use to form the core focus of the range to give it a genuine USP. Dolcis has a high level of consumer awareness; this is a strength that we will capitalise on in our development of the brand.” The Dolcis brand will operate from the Jacobson head office and will be


supported by a specifically formulated team which will draw on Jacobson’s wealth of footwear sourcing, design expertise, marketing and sales experience.


Merger of William Lamb Footwear and Rushton Ablett


William Lamb Holdings Ltd has acquired the entire share capital of


Rushton Ablett from Paul Ablett with immediate effect. The two companies have worked together for many years and have shared the same liaison offices in China since 2003. Paul Ablett and Ian Ferris have joined the board of William Lamb Footwear Ltd. The enlarged group, with annual sales in excess of £50m, holds licences


and brands such as Disney, Hello Kitty, Gluv and Buckle My Shoe and has a considerable share of the UK children’s shoe market in addition to a growing adult footwear division.Paul Ablett will retain 100% ownership of the JUJU footwear brands and the UK manufacturing facility in Northampton through JUJU LTD.
