TORI JAMES.

“TORI SPEAKS OF HER OWN COURAGE, JOIE DE VIVRE, AND SHEER GRIT AND DETERMINATION IN A WAY THAT IS INSPIRING, AND UTTERLY COMPELLING TO LISTEN TO.”

Laura Greene, Senior Training and Development Officer, Breakthrough Breast Cancer

Tori is a multi-talented individual with a passion for extreme adventure. In May 2005 she competed as a member of the The Pink Lady PoleCats, the first ever all-female team to complete The Polar Challenge, a grueling 360 mile race to the Magnetic North Pole. The team finished in 6th position out of 16 teams, having raced through polar bear territory in temperatures as low as -40°C.

Two years later, on 24th May 2007, Tori climbed to the summit of Mount Everest (8,850 metres/29, 035 feet). In doing so, she became the youngest British female (at 25) at the time and the first ever Welsh woman to reach the summit.

More recently, in January 2010, Tori took to two wheels and cycled the length of New Zealand, a total of 2400km from north to south.

Tori gives a fascinating insight into life in extreme environments, sharing her passion for achieving things against the odds. In her presentations she explains exactly how she turned her goals into reality, overcame numerous setbacks and used a variety of psychological techniques to retain the positivity and self-belief that ultimately lead to her and her team’s successes.
