Ann Daniels is a Guinness world record-holding polar explorer, accomplished guide and renowned international speaker. Along with expedition teammate Caroline Hamilton, she is the first woman in history to reach both the North and South Poles as part of all women teams.

Described by The Times as “living proof that humans really can reach new peaks”, Ann’s initial experience of the polar world was as a key member of a relay expedition to the North Pole in 1997. As a mother of triplets with zero knowledge about the outdoors, Ann was selected from hundreds of applicants to join the first team of this unique relay after spending nine months teaching herself everything from navigating with a compass in whiteout conditions to cooking on a stove the size of a grapefruit.

After her record-breaking expedition to both poles, Ann was invited to join the ground-breaking 2009 Catlin Arctic Survey as head of field operations. In order to facilitate this environmental study of the Arctic Ocean, Ann was tasked with finding safe routes for the team of scientists across the ice. Since 2009, she has taken on the role of Explorer Team leader for both the 2010 and 2011 Catlin Arctic Surveys, and has now spent over 365 days living on the Arctic ice.

Ann speaks at conferences and events on the subjects of leadership, teamwork and the environment. Ann is Britain’s first female polar guide, and has led groups of men and women on last degree expeditions to the North Pole.
