Ed Stafford is an internationally renowned explorer and the first known person to walk the entire length of the Amazon river. His epic, dangerous and exhausting journey was over 4000 miles long, took him 860 days to complete and is the longest jungle expedition ever recorded.

Ed began his career serving in the British Army, leaving with the rank of Captain in 2002. After six years spent leading expeditions and film crews into the jungles of Belize, Guatemala and Borneo, he decided to draw on his experiences and embark on his own expedition of endurance.

Amazon before. Considered far too dangerous an expedition by all the experts he spoke to, he was told that it was too far, that he would probably die, get seriously ill or that the dense forest, biting insects, snakes, bogs, jaguars and fearful tribes would be too much. But despite all these warnings, he went anyway. Two and half years later, 18 months longer than he thought it would take, Ed finally reached the Atlantic Ocean on 9th August 2010.

Ed draws on his experiences of survival in the world’s most remote locations to inspire and motivate his audience to achieve their own goals. An engaging and humourous speaker who is able to present in both English and Spanish.
