“THE POWERFUL LESSONS HE HAS LEARNED FROM EACH OF HIS ADVENTURES RELATES BACK TO DAY TO DAY ITEMS AND GOAL SETTING. HIS FRESH AND COMPELLING POINT OF VIEW IS A GREAT DRAW CARD AND INSPIRES POSITIVE CHANGES IN BOTH WORK AND PERSONAL LIFE”
Robbie Bennetts - CEO, Professional Investment Holdings Ltd
Dave Cornthwaite is a passionate adventurer known for his Expedition1000 project, an ambitious series of twenty-five journeys of at least 1000 miles in length, each one using a different method of non-motorised transport. Dave hopes to raise £1,000,000 for his selected charities by the end of the project, which will take him across three oceans, to both poles, and to every continent on Earth.
After giving up his career as a graphic designer, Dave completed his first professional expedition in 2006, becoming the first person to skate the length of Britain. After a few weeks later, he decided to take his ambitions
further, skating 4500 miles from Perth to Brisbane and setting a new World Record in the process.
Since 2006, Dave has been pursuing his Expedition1000 quest, completing his second, third and fourth expeditions of the project by kayaking 1540 miles along Australia’s Murray River, cycling 1396 miles from Vancouver to Las Vegas and paddling 2400 miles down the length of the Mississippi.
Dave is an experienced motivational speaker who is also passionate about the environment, using his expeditions to combine sport and travel and encourage others to look after their own little corner of the planet.
