DR ANDREW MURRAY.

“I’VE HEARD ANDREW GIVE SEVERAL TALKS, AND HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY IMPRESSED WITH HIS PASSION, HONESTY AND ENGAGING STYLE.” David Scott. Sandbaggers Expedition Services

Dr Andrew Murray is a highly accomplished athlete and expedition doctor. In 2011 he ran from John O’Groats to the Sahara Desert in 77 days and 8 hours, covering a staggering distance of 2659 miles. Andrew’s accomplishment was the equivalent of running over 101 consecutive marathons and is a new British record.

As well as competing in some of the world’s most extreme ultra- marathon events (the Sahara Race, the Gobi Challenge, the 6633 Arctic Ultra, and the Indo Jungle Ultra) Andrew has worked as an expedition doctor on six continents. He also works with the Scottish Government’s Active Nation team to promote the value of exercise.

Andrew is an endurance specialist, able to motivate both himself and others to push themselves to their limit in the harshest of conditions. He approaches each personal endurance challenge as a new project, planning meticulously and carefully selecting the best team to provide the expertise and support needed. His work as an expedition medic requires him to motivate others, assessing their strengths and capabilities and keeping them on track to achieve their own personal goals.
