Dear Sheetz, Thank you so much for arranging lunch for the student volunteers at the Bedford Food Outreach. The kids really enjoyed the subs, chips, cookies, apples and water. We enjoyed being able to celebrate the spirit of volunteerism with our youth vol- unteers. We really appreciate the fact that Sheetz is so willing to support community activities and services, and we’re espe- cially glad that you were able to provide lunch for the kids who help carry food for the clients of the Bedford Food Outreach. Sincerely, Susan Thomas Bedford Food Outreach, Inc. Bedford, PA

Dear Sheetz, The quality for me starts with your fuel service. I like that the gas always pumps fast and there’s always paper in the receipt dispenser. When I go inside, I am greeted by an

exceptionally clean environment from the floors to the restrooms to even the employees’ shirts. The menu is excellent and easy to use and the food is always

fresh, well priced and is made quickly and exactly to order. The consistency of quality from location to location is why I always seek out a Sheetz for lunch. Sheetz is a port of comfort in the world

of an outside salesman. Thank you for providing me with a comfortable place to stop while I’m on the road. Sincerely, Max Klein Newville, PA

The following letter came from the daughter of an older couple whose house we recently purchased to do a rebuild:

Dear Sheetz, Thank you for your kindness to my parents. I remember them telling me about you when you first stopped by, and how they dragged you through the whole house! It’s been a pleasure dealing with you. Sheetz has a family of loyal customers in us (we usually get our gas at the Sheetz in Mt. Jackson, Woodstock or Winchester, VA). Not many businesses these days seem to combine your qualities of a professional

operation with employees who actually care about the people they serve. Too bad you can’t take over for my employer, the Federal government! Sincerely, Deborah Goddard

Dear Sheetz, I would like to thank everyone at Store #286, Ashland, VA. I live nearby and work erratic hours. Every time I go into that store, the cashiers treat me like I’m their friend, even if I haven’t met them before. Whether it’s 5 a.m. or 5 p.m., everyone who works there always has a smile on their face. Even though Sheetz is a chain, I feel like it’s my corner store, where I can pick up whatever I need, even in the middle of the night. Thanks so much for being there and having fun while you are! Sincerely, Jennifer Myers Ashland, VA

Hot dog sales in May were the best in company history!

Why can’t I wear acrylic nails or pretty fingernail polish to work? I take good care of my nails and have never had one fall off.

Two words: Food safety. At Sheetz, we follow universal food safety guidelines. Fake, acrylic nails can fall off. Maybe they only fall off a very small percentage of the time, but a small percentage means a small chance a customer could find a fake nail among the shredded lettuce on his or her grilled chicken M•T•O® sub. Think that customer would want to eat at Sheetz again? Same goes for chips of your favorite bright red or neon pink polish.

Even employees who don’t typically prepare food must

follow the personal appearance policy. You never know when you might have to jump behind the food counter if your store gets busy. Need a reminder of the Sheetz personal appearance

policy as it relates to fingernails? “Nails must be clean and trimmed, only clear nail polish or a natural looking “French manicure” are allowed, and nail jewelry is not permitted.”
