Sliders and Quesadillas Head to Test

Sliders

Now that our seasonal fish slider program is over, we’re bringing burger sliders to test in Districts 16 and 20 at the end of June. “Sliders are a great way to respond to market trends without

adding additional skus to the kitchen,” Steve said. For burger sliders, we’ll use a two ounce. Angus burger that

will likely replace the Jr. burger currently on the menu. Cooking procedure would be identical to current burgers with a minimum of topping choices to keep costs low and allow for quick assembly. The roll will be the same as the one used for fish sliders, and we’ll once again market them in pairs.

Breakfast Quesadilla

Like the breakfast burrito, our newest offering for the early- morning crowd is preassembled. Employees need only thaw, heat in the microwave and serve. “Where burritos are soft, these are much crisper,” Steve said. The filling, according to Steve, comes in two flavors: sausage and

egg and a southwest version. Districts 16 and 20 began testing this item at the end of June. If testing goes well, quesadillas will be part of an overall breakfast promotion in the fall.

New Shweetz

In August, Shweetz fans will have several delicious new products to try. Blueberry Cake Cruelers, Dunkin Sticks in glazed and powdered sugar, and Honey Buns will be added as permanent additions to our donut line. Our seasonal donut for the month will be Caramel Apple. Other new editions for August are the CinnaShmon- ster in cream cheese or peanut butter and a two-pack of Raspberry Rolls, similar to cinnamon rolls but with raspberry filling. As we head into fall, you’ll be adding more tasty treats to the Shweetz shelves.

September’s seasonal donut will be Pumpkin Spice. And we’ll be adding some gourmet bakery items, such as a Gourmet Brownie, a Brownie Sandwich (similar to a gob but so much better!), and Fritter Holes.
