Since 2009 John Nixon Ltd has had a business venture located in Qatar and has developed an ever expanding infrastructure there. This year turnover for Nixon Hire Middle East is expected to increase three fold. It has also proved to be a vital corridor for disposing of equipment that needs to be moved out of the UK hire fleet. “We are able to send four or five year old kit over to the Qatar operation where it will probably be run for another year or two,” says Chris. “After that it’s a short stepping stone to countries such as India and the African states where we are finding a good demand for equipment of this age and condition.”

Nixon Hire eXtra is another initiative within the 2020 vision. This division offers an additional range of construction related products for hire on a nationwide basis, from carefully selected suppliers. Nixon Hire eXtra is headed up by Chris’ brother and joint Managing Director, Graham. “We’ll work with major events
