Power Management I Product News Easily configured driver features low EMI
Intersil has introduced the HIP4086A, a low noise, 80V, 0.5A three-phase bridge driver IC. The HIP4086A features low EMI along with the industry’s fastest rise and fall times, which help reduce switching losses and simplify development of flexible bridge-based PWM motor control designs. Based on the company’s proven HIP4086 N- channel MOSFET driver IC, the HIP4086A integrates three half-bridge gate drivers in one package that can replace larger discrete circuits. It drives 1000pF loads, providing an efficient and high-frequency operation. Rise time is only 50ns (maximum over temperature) compared with competitive devices, which range from 120ns to 200ns.
The six N-channel MOSFET drivers can be driven independently so users can configure any switch combination and use the HIP4086A either in brushless DC (BLDC) or switched reluctance motors. The HIP4086A requires no gate drive charge pump, improving EMI performance. Programmable dead time of 0.25 microseconds to 4.5 microseconds avoids cross-conduction or ‘shoot-through’ current, also helping reduce EMI
Low cost, ultra-high speed 12-bit digital to analogue converter
DATEL, a business unit of Murata Power Solutions, has launched the DAC-12100, a series of low power 12-bit current output digital to analogue converters that have TTL/CMOS compatible inputs. With a 100 MHz conversion rate, these ultra-high speed devices suit any

and maximizing reliability. Other configurable features include programmable UVLO, bootstrap refresh, an optional charge pump (available in the HIP4086ABZ and HIP4086APZ versions) and a disable input override feature – all programmable using small external components. The HIP4086A is built using a TS16949 automotive quality level process in a TS16949- qualified fabrication facility and is suitable for battery-powered tools, light electric vehicles and consumer products.

speed critical applications such as radar, signal reconstruction, waveform generators and communications equipment. With an extremely low glitch energy characteristic of 3.0 pV-s, the DAC-12100 generates very little switching noise. The complementary current outputs of 0 to -20.48 mA can directly drive 50 ohm loads. Dynamic performance, to Nyquist at fOUT of 2.02 MHz, provides a spurious free dynamic range (SFDR) specification of - 85 dB. The converter uses a R/2R resistor network and a segmented switching current cell arrangement in order to reduce glitch energy. Employing laser trimming of the resistor network
XP Power has announced the DLG series of constant voltage and constant current LED drivers aimed at a broad range of outdoor lighting, security and machine vision applications. These IP67-rated waterproof units are highly efficient, up to 90%, and generate less waste heat resulting in an extended operating lifetime. Compliance against the IP67 specification guarantees no ingress of dust, total protection against contact with live parts and immersion in water to a depth of 1 metre.
The series covers the power ranges of 50, 75, 100 and 150 W. Across the range, models are available with constant voltage outputs of +12, + 24, +36 or +48 VDC. A +15, +30, +54 or +57 VDC output is also available, depending on power range Constant current outputs vary from 1.05 to 11.0 A and is model dependent.
ensures the device achieves its 12-bit linearity to within 0.5 LSB across the transfer curve. The DAC-12100 is available in a hermetically sealed 28-pin CLCC solder dipped leads package measuring 11.43 x 11.43 mm (0.45 x 0.45 inches). Designed for harsh and rugged application environments, particularly those experienced in military and avionic platforms, the highly reliable converter is guaranteed to operate over the extended temperature range of - 55 degrees C to + 125 degrees C. The converter meets all MIL-PRF-38534 standard requirements.

Accommodating a wide range of input voltage from 90- 305 VAC, they can be used in many outdoor applications and, in particular, suit nominal 277 VAC applications in the US. The series carry the internationally recognised lighting safety standards of EN61347 and UL8750. In addition, the DLG100 and DLG150 models carry UL/EN60950 making them suitable for a broader range of applications such as data communications and CCTV. The series also comply with the EN55015 Class B specification for conducted and radiated emissions.
