Bateman Groundworks Invests In Volvo Compact Excavators

Once Again Great Yarmouth based Bateman Groundworks Ltd has purchased three Volvo EC55C compact excavators as part of an investment programme as the company increases its project portfolio through 2011 and 2012. The three new EC55C’s have been supplied to

Bateman Groundworks by Contractors Equipment Sales Ltd -Volvo’s utility dealer covering East Anglia. “These are the third generation of Volvo’s five an a half tonne minis we’ve operated,” commented Managing Director Richard Bateman. “In our opinion the EC55 is in a class of its own in terms of robustness, quality and operator acceptance so choosing the latest C models as part of our ongoing investment was an easy decision to make,” he continued. “In addition we’ve enjoyed a long standing relationship with Andy Smith and Claire Cozens at CES who have supported us well over the past twelve or so years.” Primarily contracting to the large national house

builders throughout East Anglia, Bateman Groundworks EC55C’s are well adapted for working on sites where space is a premium but yet good reach and all round performance are required. Powered by a proven, direct injection Volvo diesel engine developing 35.1kw, the EC55C offers high performance, leading fuel efficiency and low emissions/noise. High performance tractive forces make levelling and backfilling quick and efficient work. The float blade provides precision finishing through a minimal, yet consistent amount of blade force and the heavy-duty travel pedals, comparable to those on heavier excavators, provide precision and an ease of operation. The machine features Volvo’s industry-leading comfortable cab for less fatigue and more production. The ergonomically-designed cab offers greater leg and foot room, making it one of the most spacious in its category.
