Performance, Reliability And Service Support Prompts Another

Order From R J Brooks & Son Ltd A new Volvo EC18C mini excavator has been delivered to plant hire and groundworking contractors R J Brooks & Son Ltd of Crediton, Devon, thanks to the performance and reliability of a previously owned Volvo ECR58 model and the service and support provided by Volvo’s utility dealer – Plant & Engineering Services according to proprietor Simon Brooks. R J Brooks & Son Ltd is a family run business centred at Crediton, Devon

undertaking all manner of groundworking contracts from small private jobs to large £1m plus projects. The recent addition of a Volvo EC18C mini excavator is the second Volvo machine Mr Brooks has owned, and was chosen thanks to a good experience with a previously owned ECR58. “The EC18C is an ideal size for most of the smaller projects we undertake and based on our past experience with the larger machine, I have to say I can’t fault the product,” says Mr Brooks. “It’s also re- assuring to know we can rely on Volvo’s local dealer for service and back up and the team at Plant & Engineering Services do just that,” he continued. To enhance the versatility of the EC18C R J Brooks has acquired a hydraulically

operated tilt bucket which is ideally suited to grading and backfilling applications. The machine is also used on hammer work and both hammer and tilt functions are easily accomplished thanks to the standard fitment of hammer / shear lines on the machine.

More Sales Success For Shindaiwa Shindaiwa of Wolverhampton continues to notch-up sales successes, this time with Adlington Welding Supplies to which it has recently supplied an initial batch of ten ECO300 welder generators and signed an agreement for the long-term supply of further units. With headquarters in Chorley, plus five strategically placed depots around the

UK, Adlington has grown to become one of the leading independent welding suppliers in the UK with a significant emphasis on equipment hire. Commenting on the initial £80,000 order, Adlington’s director Howard Turner

said: “We liked the specification of the Shindaiwa product and decided to take a unit on long-term trial, based at our new Scunthorpe depot. This trial resulted in some excellent feedback from our customers who particularly liked the fuel economy and choice of multi-voltage outlets.” Mr. Turner has also been impressed with the overall reliability of the ECO300

model and its low levels of both noise and emissions. In addition, its compact size has ensured easy transportation and storage. The ECO300 is currently the largest welder generator in Shindaiwa’s range and

is powered by a Kubota diesel engine with an advanced auto-idle system. This system automatically sets optimum engine speed for the job in hand without first running-up to maximum rpm, hence helping to reduce fuel consumption, noise and engine wear.
