Victaulic Commissions New Casting Plant in Mexico Pipe products supplier Victaulic,
Easton, Pa., announced it has opened a manufacturing facility with casting capabilities in Chihuahua, Mexico. Te site, one of the largest Victaulic
facilities in the world, will produce ductile iron castings and large-diam- eter pipe joining products up to 72 inches. Te company said the addition will broaden the scope of its casting
offerings and manufacturing services, including the ability to produce cast- ings up to 1,500 lbs. “The opening of the new Chihuahua facility signifies the
growth of Victaulic in Mexico, Latin America and South America and will help us meet demand for our products in the region,” said John Malloy, the company’s chairman, president and CEO. This facility joins the Victaulic
Queretaro branch, increasing its capabilities for customer training and enhancing regional support. In addition to the metalcasting capabil- ities, the new 133,000-sq.-ft. facility includes machining and assembly capabilities, as well as local operations offices. Victaulic has manufacturing and
distribution facilities worldwide and employs more than 3,500 people. Te opening of the Chihuahua facility follows on the heels of the company’s recent commissioning of a facility in Dalian, China, and expansions at the Drezdenko, Poland, facility.
Thresher Completes Relocation Tresher Industries announced it
has relocated to a new manufacturing facility in Hanford, Calif. Te company said the new 10,000-sq.-ft. facility is more en- ergy efficient than its predecessor and equipped with an improved security sys- tem. Tresher expects to add a dedicated metallurgy lab to the facility, as well. “The new facility has excellent
high bays along with great ventila- tion, as well as skylights,” said Tom Flessner, Thresher’s president and chief executive officer. “Thresher has focused on green manufactur- ing, and this facility will allow us to further that goal.” Tresher manufactures metal matrix
composite aluminum castings for industries like agriculture, aerospace, defense, transportation and automo- tive, in the U.S. and Europe.
