come here, and he did one exercise with us, and afterwards he was over there in the corner and he had two bags of ice on his legs, trying to cool his body down. That’s the funniest thing I’ve ever seen.
FLEX: What was the exercise? RC: Deadlifts. Deadlifts was our first exercise, and we had like four or five more [exercises] to do right after that. We were barely getting started, but he did that one, and he was done for the day. And the next day, he wouldn’t even work out in MetroFlex.
FLEX: What’s your best training advice for a young bodybuilder who wants to get huge? RC: Build up the base. Work on those basic barbell lifts: deadlifts, squats, bench presses, shoulder presses, barbell rows. You just got to work to get stronger in those basic movements.
FLEX: What about your diet… has It changed at all and, when did you last eat at the Black-eyed Pea? RC: I just came from there. I had chicken breasts and a baked potato, like every day.. I pretty much eat the same foods year in and year out And now I’m sitting in the parking lot at MetroFlex, getting ready to train chest. Bench presses. Black-eyed Pea and MetroFlex, just like always. [Laughs] Just like the good ol’ days.
FLEX: Yep, just like the old days… but give us some up-to-the minute insight – what about your supplement line? RC: Well I got a lot of things I’m working on but I’m focusing on my own supplement line called Ronnie Coleman Signature Series. The official release is this month. Anyone who knows me or has seen my videos knows that I am a big supplement user. Over the years I’ve used a lot of different supplements that I’ve felt have been a big part of my training and recovery, so I wanted to put them together in formulas that I felt could help people reach their goals. And it ain’t about just slapping my name on a product and calling it mine. I’m involved in every aspect of the business because if it has my name on it, it better be the best. I want to give people the highest quality products and most effective products. There’s no sense doing something if you ain’t going to be the best at it.
FLEX: That’s great to hear Ronnie and we wish you all the success in the world with it. Any last comments or anything you want to say to anyone? RC: Definitely. I just want to say thank you to all of my fans out there who have supported me throughout my entire career. Over the years I’ve had tens of thousands of fans come and wait in line to get a picture with me, shake my hand, and the joy it has brought me is incredible. FLEX
