urday, August 20 to enjoy the privileges of cooperative ownership at their annual meeting. “Quorum was 159,” says Kenny Waugh, NFEC director of administrative services, “but 285 members registered.”

The morning began at the Sayre Municipal Park as members registered their attendance and received their registration gifts of an NFEC ball cap and knife. Roy Lee Scott, the Flying Cowboy, entertained the crowd before the business session, and again while ev- eryone enjoyed a post-meeting barbecue dinner. Jimmy Taylor, president of NFEC’s board of trust- ees, opened the meeting before handing it off to NFEC General Manager Scott Copeland. Chris Meyers, CEO of the Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives, and Gary Roulet, CEO of Western Farmer’s Electric Coop- erative, who supplies wholesale power to NFEC, both spoke to the crowd.

Also speaking to the group was Congressman Frank Lucas, chairman of the House Agriculture Committee, and a NFEC member.

During the meeting, members voted to return incum- bent trustees from districts 4, 5, and 6 to their positions on the board.

At the conclusion of the meeting, a large number of prizes were awarded including the grand prize and the oldest member in attendance prize.
