As we approach IBC 2011, exhibiting companies are jostling for position in preparation for their biggest PR and marketing opportunity of the year. Strengthening its own position as the leading publisher and event organiser within the broadcast industry, BPL Broadcast Ltd - publisher of IBE,
ConnectedWorld.TV, and IBC’s partner in the IBC Connected World - has announced the appointment of Saleha Williams as it’s executive commercial director. Saleha will be familiar to many senior personnel within the global broadcast market. She has over 20 years global business and strategic
marketing experience across the media, telco and IT sectors, specialising in digital media. She has previously worked with companies including BBC Technology, BT, Siemens, and ANT plc and joins BPL after spending a year with the London 2012 Olympics. Saleha has an impressive track record in the digital media and technology/telecoms sector. Throughout her career she has worked with global
clients to define and deliver their business and marketing strategies, driving global sales and marketing programmes which utilise multiple platform content delivery and broadband/IP distribution technologies to exploit emerging and new business models across the convergent media value chain. Following the sale of BBC Technology to Siemens, Saleha was responsible for setting up and driving the Siemens Digital media business in Asia
and played an integral part in the BBC/Siemens Media marketing strategy globally. More recently she has set up a series of digital transformation programmes for broadcasters and media companies across South America and the Caribbean. Saleha holds a BA hons in Business Studies/English, an MBA from Henley which focused on the commercial opportunities within the convergent
digital broadcast market, a post grad in Inter-Cultural Management Studies and several technical and business diplomas. Media trained at the BBC, she is also a digital media business presenter on TV, radio, online and at media conferences worldwide. Saleha will continue to utilise her strengths in developing strategic projects for BPL
Broadcast Ltd within the broadcast sector, including the IBC Connected World. She said: “The IBC Connected World unites previous IPTV, broadband and mobile technologies to provide organisations with the opportunity to highlight technology innovations from a consumer content experience perspective, whilst demonstrating how the broadcast industry can embrace new digital technologies, to deliver the ultimate connected viewing experience. I look forward to working with the IBC to enhance this exhibit in the future.” The whole BPL Broadcast Ltd team look forward to meeting with you at IBC 2011, and to welcoming you to the IBC Connected World, situated in Hall 13 at Amsterdam RAI.
