class with back to back victories, adding to his third place overall in the Super Pee Wee for an impressive display of racing. The eight-year-old has five years of racing under his boots and several wins to his credit, most recently he placed fourth in the 50cc Open at Mammoth, and won two of four overalls in the only two rounds he competed at in the 2011 Gold Cup. He would like to thank Dragon, Mom, Dad, and all his fans. The epitome of the stick-to-it attitude, eight-year-old Finch does not always have the same speed as some of the top notch racers he is pitted against, but quitting is not in his vocabulary constantly digging from the gate drop to the final wave of the checkers. The 2011 Gold Cup Super Pee Wee Champion incorporated that racing energy tilling up a second in the Pee Wee (7-8) Stock, fourth in the Super Pee Wee. He put the icing on the cake with a flawless run in the Pee Wee (7-8) Mod for a Mini National Championship. Saying the starts were a little rough as fellow racers all charged for a tight first turn corner, but had fun and really enjoyed the famed, "Mini National Prize Walk." He would like to thank all his sponsors and brother River, Uncle Chris and his entire family.

85cc-250cc #69 Trevor Finch, #202 Jacob Camp and #470 Dilan Schwartz C

alifornia Mini Motorcycle Club (CMMC) has returned their classic Mini Nation als to the oak tree canopy of the histori- cal Barona Oaks, the first time since 2008. The Mini Nationals were last held at Perris Raceway in 2009, and cancelled due to economic conditions in 2010. Com- ing back into full bloom at Barona Oaks, there were over forty-five thousand dollars in prizes and the customary Pro races with a respectable $2,000 in purse for the Pro ranks. Racers arrived from all areas of Southern Califor-

nia, as far north as Redwood Valley, Mexico, and many parts of Arizona, let's race.

50-65cc

Motoworld of El Cajon’s Dilan Schwartz has been rais- ing havoc in the 50cc classes and will be keeping the gas on for many years to come, having a very suc- cessful run in the Super Pee Wee and 65 (0-8). In moto one of the Super Pee Wee he left no prisoners and tossed a nine second split by lap two and took the win. Behind him we had RP Racing's Trevor Finch, Luis

Flores, and Jacob Camp behind in a tense battle for second. Flores prevailed for second slipping by Finch on lap three, Finch locks in third, Andrew Hertzler fourth, and Camp fifth. Herztler soars into the lead in moto two with Flores and Schwartz on the case. Flores makes a small mistake and Schwartz pounces and takes up the space behind Hertzler closing the deal on lap three and on to the checkers for moto two win, Hertzler fends off Flores for second, Flores third, Austin Magner fourth, and Finch fifth.

Schwartz won the 2011 Mini National title in Su- per Pee Wee, and despite some stiff resistance from X- Brands/Pro Circuit's Chris Nunes in the 65 (0-8), who took the first moto win over Schwartz. He came back strong in moto two leading early aided by Nunes slip- ping out in a corner. Schwartz takes his second title with a 2-1 to Nunes 1-2, with his first place in moto two. He would like to thank Schwartztracks.com, Strom, his entire family and supporters.

Nunes has strong local roots at Barona Oaks winning three prestigious 2010 CMMC Banquet titles. With his extensive knowledge of the track he put on a good run against a National power like Schwartz, he also had no problem grappling with the older racers placing fifth overall in the 65 Open and a ninth in the 85 (7-11). Racing in Mammoth he placed second in the 65 (0-8). He would like to thank Maxima and the folks. All American KTM/Pro Taper's Hertzler snagged a 2011 Mini National title in the Pee Wee (7-8) Stock

#35 Tristan Miller, #313 Zachary Norton and #921 Nathan Seals

Rockstar Suzuki/Asterisk/Bell Helmet's Tristan Miller cut his moto teeth at Barona Oaks and is on course to carry the torch onward to stardom. A recog- nized Amateur National power with many titles and wins to his credit, nationally and locally, he maintains true to his roots and always makes time to race the Mini Na- tionals. Miller opened up gaps in the 85 (12-13) in both motos and rode to easy wins for the Mini National title. The battle for second in moto one had Michael Wicker, Austin Zambach, Carson Carr, and Nathan Seals jos- tling hard and changing positions most of the moto. Wicker prevailed for second, Zambach third, Carr fourth, and Seals fifth. In moto two Carr was in for second, Wicker third, Gordon Keller fourth, and Elliott Weiland fifth. Teammates Dunlop/Fox/FMF's Sean Cantrell and Miller have crossed swords many times and both were gated up in the Supermini. At the start of moto one it was Miller, Cantrell, and Gordon Keller in the top three. Cantrell lost his wheels reportedly twice and had to make his way from tenth place. Miller zones out once again and rode his race to the win, 2011 multiple Gold Cup series Champion Zachary Norton sped his way into second, Giovanni Martin glued up third, Cantrell with a coura- geous ride fourth, and Keller securing fifth. Moto two Cantrell is off clean and blowing out the carburetor in pursuit of the older Miller, but Miller was just too much building a four second gap for a win. Cantrell nonethe- less kept off the dirt for a second. Carr, Seals, and Martin had another fracas in the battle for third and fin- ished in that order respectively at the checkers. Miller won his second title in the Supermini, Cantrell went on to titles in the 85 (7-11) and 85/150 Open. All American KTM's Desmond Spears has been racing Barona Oaks since he was front axle high to a 250, and has done well throughout the years. He has been racing 250's for a year now and continues to get faster with each moto. Under the tutelage of Willie Surratt MX School he battled with central coast racer, Nicholas Nesbit in the 250F/125 (12-15). Nesbit clinched the first moto win but the gritty Spears blew back his second in moto one and rocked out a moto two win for the Mini National title.

Nesbit arrived from Santa Margarita, San Luis Don’t Miss the Next Issue . . .

Obispo County, ready for some racing and that he did. Taking the green flag for four years the fourteen-year-old has done a lot of traveling to pursue his love of moto. Having raced at the 2008 Mini Nationals he was familiar with the turf and knew what to do. In his tight battle with Spears he finished second overall also going on to sec- ond in the 450 Novice. Axell Hodges topped Nesbit in moto one of the 250 Novice. Nesbit bought it in moto two shooting out of the start he was quickly in front with the hammer down, holding off seasoned Barona Oaks racer Dylan Gillespie in the fight to the finish. Nesbit grabs the moto win and the 2011 250 Novice Mini National title with it.

Intermediate & Pro Dustin McCarthy was not able to tie down a moto win in the 450 Intermediate but toughed out a 2-3 to best the field for his first title, he left no question marks in the 250 Intermediate wrestling the bike to both moto wins and his second Mini National title. Hammer Nutrition's Austin Politelli took a break from running in the Canadian series where he was competing for the 250 title, winning both Pro 450 motos for the lion's share of the purse.
