determine what effects various stresses and loads placed in key areas of the frame would have. They wanted to ensure their frame could withstand the loads it was going to be required to carry and still function in a safe manner.

They built a steel frame to hold a 1.5 ton Central Hydraulics low profile racing jack. The frame is made of mild steel and has 3 ten-inch tires. The front of the frame features 2 wheels while the rear of the frame has one wheel that is set on a swivel. This wheel configuration makes the jack feel as if it’s floating over the sand and is very easy to maneuver. Just

roll it under your buggy and pump the jack handle.

Another key feature of the buggy jack is the steel feet built into the frame. There are two located at the end under the two front wheels and one near the single rear wheel. With the tires fully inflated, once the jack receives 800 pounds of weight the tires are slightly compressed and the feet touch the ground for the remainder of the load put on the jack. This makes for a very stable and safe platform while your buggy is lifted in the air.

e’ve all had the need to use a jack while at the dunes to lift up a dune buggy to preform maintenance or repairs. Lugging a heavy and

cumbersome floor jack around in the sand is no easy task, especially with it’s tiny steel wheels that are meant to be used on a cement floor. Once you’ve finally gotten the jack to your buggy you must add a few wood blocks between the jack and your chassis and lift your buggy into the air. The higher you lift the buggy the more rickety it becomes and you have a rickety disaster waiting to happen. San

Diego Ride Concepts has solved this problem by designing a jack with pneumatic wheels that is very stable and extremely easy to maneuver in the sand. They call it The Buggy Jack. Ron and Ryan McGuaghy both have a long history in the off-road and fabrication industry. They saw a need for a few key products such as their buggy jack and their handy kwik tabs which are designed for mounting various items to an off-road vehicle. When developing The Buggy Jack, extensive scientific stress testing was performed in order to
