SANDERSON
Blooming Marvellous A new range of Sanderson wallpapers, inspired by the Bloomsbury Group 1 2
Sanderson’s newest collection draws inspiration from the artists, designers and poets of the Omega Workshop and the Bloomsbury Group in the 1930s. The new looks for Autumn nod to the creative genius of a huge range of artists and their varying styles and techniques, resulting in a unique set of wallpapers, each with their own artistic feel.
‘’In the collection we have aimed to capture the energy and lyrical beauty of the art and designs produced during this avant-garde era,” explains Becci Craig, the Studio Manager at Sanderson. In the studio, Sanderson’s designers used oil paints, dry-brush effects and fresco techniques to emulate the styles they loved. “Our patterns are all entirely new but the composition, colour palette and the expressive brush marks used are our interpretation of the creative style of the time”, said Becci.
The Bloomsbury Collection is a clever, versatile way to take any room back to the fashionable 30s

The influences behind the new designs range from Post Impressionist paintings and textiles to the interior decoration in houses such as Charleston Farmhouse, the beautifully preserved home of Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant, both of whom were key personalities within the Bloomsbury Group.
The designs themselves range from unashamedly romantic prints to abstract geometrics and iconic motifs which bring 1930s creativity right up to date. With a colour palette encompassing delicate pastels right through to striking reds and mauves, the Bloomsbury Collection is a clever, versatile way to take any room back to the fashionable 30s!
