2011-2012 General Orders No. 1


1. Having been elected National President and having been installed into office in accordance with the National Bylaws of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, I hereby accept command.


2. The officers for the ensuing year have been duly elected, appointed and installed. All previous appointments having expired are declared null and void.


3. The National Council of Administration will hold a meeting at the time of the Homecoming of National President Gwen Rankin. The Homecoming will be held in Sacramento, California, September 23-26.


4. Announcement is hereby made of the Annual Ceremony at the Statue of Liberty for her 125th Birthday on October 28, 2011. All Ladies Auxiliary and VFW members and Junior Girls are invited to attend.


5. All Auxiliaries shall have the office of President and Treasurer bonded since all bonds expired on August 31, 2011. The premium

on each the President’s and the Treasurer’s Bond is $15 for a total of $30 for $10,000 coverage. Additional coverage may be obtained at a cost of $3.50 for each additional $1,000. If not bonded through National Headquarters, a copy of the bond must be sent to National Headquarters. The bond should be a sum at least double the amount of funds and value of property for which, so far as can be anticipated, the Treasurer may be accountable.


6. Auxiliaries that have not forwarded an Installation Report to the Department Secretary and National Secretary must do so immediately. Important information cannot be mailed to your Auxiliary without this report.


7. The first Department audit following the Department Convention shall be conducted by the 2011-2012 Audit Committee.


8. Amendments to the National Bylaws and Booklet of Instruction adopted at the Ladies Auxiliary National Convention shall take effect 60 days following the close of the National Convention, unless
