Piper and pipe music book compiler and collector Iain Duncan has made a gift of a substantial number of books, magazines and manuscripts to the Museum of Piping. Thanks to Iain for his generosity. He is pictured handing over some of the items.

37 Skye Bands
Eight bands from the Highlands and Islands joined together for a performance in Portree, Isle of Skye, last month to mark the 50th Anniversary of the island’s band. Bands taking part were from Lewis, Nairn, Army Cadets, Uist and Lochaber. The Isle of Skye pipe band formed in the 1920s, was disbanded during WW2 and reformed in
1961.The band will be on duty once more at this year’s Skye Games on August 3.
New Book
The long awaited second edition of ‘Highland Bagpipemakers’ by Jeannie Campbell,will be launched at 1pm onAugust 12 at the College of Piping. The author will be present to sign copies.
