• In the Strathclyde Suite at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on August 9 we


have the annual Piping Live! Quartet Piping contest. Bands competing are Inveraray,Manawatu Scottish, Scottish Power, St. Laurence O’Toole, Strathclyde Police and the 78th Fraser Highlanders. The contest starts at 7.30pm and tickets are £16/12.

London’s AGM, the following office bearers were elected: President,Hugh Jamieson; Vice President, Adam Sanderson; Piping Co-ordinator, Alasdair Smith; Active Committee Member, Terry MacGinn; Secretary, Membership Secretary and Treasurer are non-elected positions. Jackie Roberts, Lynda Jamieson andAndrew Hall remain in their respective posts. Retiring President Adam Sanderson said:‘I would like to offer a thank you to everyone who has supported me during my three years as president. It has been a real honour to be the representative and caretaker of such an esteemed charity.’

HE Festival Interceltique 32th MacCrimmon trophy for Highland piping will take


place on Sunday,August, 7 th 2011, at the Palais des Congres, Lorient, Brittany. Pipers from Scotland are Alistair Henderson, Jonathan Graham and Cameron Drummond. Judges for the Scottish section are JohnWilson and Bob Worral. Competitors are invited from Ireland, Scotland and Brittany. Prizemoney totals £3,550.
