Cortex™-M3/ PSoC® 5 Design Challenge, including
Grand Prize Winner, Hendrik Lipka (Jena, Germany) for his “Mixed Analog-Digital Scope.” Lipka won a total of $3,500 for his design which utilizes both ana- log and digital resources in PSoC 5 to create a low cost, mixed-signal oscilloscope.
The PSoC 5 architecture integrates a 32-bit ARM Cortex™-M3 core with high-precision programmable analog including 12-bit to 20-bit ADCs, digital logic libraries full of dozens of drop-in peripherals, best- in-class power management and rich connectivity resources.

ow Corning Corp. (NYSE: DOW) announced financial performance for the first quarter
of 2011. Sales at the silicon-based innovator and manufacturer grew 17%, to $1.58 billion in the first quarter. Net income was $179 million, a decrease when compared with the first quarter of 2010; ho- wever the 2010 net income number included U.S. Advanced Energy Manufacturing Tax Credits received by Dow Corning and its joint ventures.

Nitta Haas Inc., has been recognized with a 2010
supplier award from Siltronic AG for its Excellent Product Development in Polishing Pad Technology. Nitta Haas was honored for its years of cooperation with Siltronic, its reliability and timeliness in supp- lying high quality products which are crucial to the performance of the wafer polishing steps and its commitment to customers.
