OURAIMS Wherewe are now&wherewe aimto be by 2014

For our employees:

We will provide a safe, secure and accessible working environment that values the diversity of our employees. As an equal opportunities employer,we recognise the value of a workforce in which people from differing backgrounds are encouraged to offer fresh ideas, experiences and perspectives. We will ensure that our employees understand diversity issues through our awareness-raising programmes.

We will continue to do what we have already started and look tomake improvements where we can. Examples of our current initiatives include:

• Our Apprenticeship programmes, whose participants are drawn from the communities in which we operate

• Our Management Trainee programme, which employs individuals from different genders and ethnic backgrounds based solely on merit

• Our Dignity atWork policy, which provides the framework for a fair and dignified working environment for all our employees

• Ourmonitoring processes, which ensure that no policy or action works in opposition to equality and diversity principles, even inadvertently

• Our regular diversity awareness training courses for all employees

• Our pay and promotion practices which transparently apply equal pay measurement.

During the period of this Charter we will continually look to identify further opportunities for improvements and to ensure that our employees feel that their working environment is one where equality, diversity and inclusion are the norm.We will:

• Embed equality and diversity into our management development programmes

• Introduce equality impact assessments

• Continually review our employment polices to ensure there are no unintended barriers to inclusion

• Monitor, in particular, our gender and ethnicity ratios for apprentices, trainees

and managers

• Report progress regularly and adapt our approach, where appropriate, in the light

of legislative changes, client feedback and our own experience.
