American Standard partners with Green Education Foundation


PISCATAWAy, n.J. — The green Building Program, a new and unique K-12 curriculum that teaches students about sustainable building, ecology and the environment, has been launched through a partnership be- tween American Standard Brands and the green education Foundation. This K-12 curriculum allows stu- dents to use their school as a teaching


tool to learn first-hand about green building attributes and benefits. Stu- dents will be provided with the edu- cational resources necessary to understand, identify and improve en- vironmental inefficiencies within their own school buildings. Their work, in turn, will create a healthier environment, both inside the school and out, and will help reduce operat- ing costs for their schools well into the future. American Standard has provided


$300,000 to help fund the green Building Program, assisting geF in its development of an engaging, hands-on curriculum around water- saving best practices and strategies for use in school and at home. The green Building Program is


seeking pilot schools for the new cur- riculum, to begin in September 2011. The curriculum and its accompany-


ing audit are aligned with U.S. green Building Council guidelines for what constitutes green building construc- tion according to their leed rating system. TSdA even- tually expanded to become Central Wholesalers Assn. and later merged with Michigan Association of dis- tributors to become north Central Wholesalers Association. In 1981-82 Kramer served as pres- ident of Central Wholesalers Associ- ation and was a member of the American Supply Association board of directors. Services were held on April 5 at the


Park Synagogue in Cleveland Heights. Memorial contributions are sug-
