Sodexo supplies flexible catering services to New College Swindon S


odexo has won a contract worth almost £2.5million to provide catering and hospitality services at New College Swindon in Wiltshire. Meals will be provided for up to 7000 students and staff annually with a range of menus based on a variety of concepts including a Costa Coffee shop, Bowl hot food offer, Brunch all day breakfast concept, Street handheld snacks and a C Store retail shop. Sodexo’s skilled and experienced teams will provide increased flexibility in meal options which will ensure that students and college staff can eat what they want at a time convenient for them. “We have especially developed new concepts to meet the needs of students and staff on site and they were impressed by our local food sourcing strategy,” comments operations director for Sodexo Education Debbie Owens. “The location of Sodexo Education’s headquarters in Swindon also helped as the college wanted a readily available support team to meet their day-to-day requirements.

Lincat introduces


powerful electric chargrills to Opus 700 range

incat has added two powerful, high output electric chargrills to its heavy duty Opus 700 range of prime cooking equipment. The electric 11.2kW and 2 x 8.25kW models are capable of cooking 75 and 110 steaks per hour respectively, imparting an authentic barbecued flavour to food through the controlled ignition of fat and flaring. Food quality is also enhanced by an in-built water bath which provides humidity to help keep food succulent and reduce shrinkage.


Incorporating independently controlled multiple heat zones for maximum versatility, removable, durable, segmented cast iron grids impart attractive branding marks to food.


These new models can either be filled manually or plumbed into the mains water supply to allow the water bath to be filled easily. Safety is enhanced by a high temperature safety cut-out for protection should the water bath run dry. All are supplied as counter-top units but can be mounted on optional floor stands.

ictor Manufacturing has cornered the market in hot holding mobile banqueting carts with its flexible Banquetline range available in single and two-door options.


Plated meals can be stacked (with the use of plate covers) or placed individually on the adjustable shelves.


Cabinet temperature is adjustable between 65° and 95°C while optional humidity is provided via the integral water reservoir in the base. Banquetline enables food to be transported smoothly and safely. With 150mm castors, all round bumpers and heavy duty push bars, all units operate from a 13 amp supply powering the fan assisted 1.5kW top mounted heating system.

The SelfCooking Center reduces shrinkage on meats, produces perfect pastries, proves and bakes bread, fries eggs and even cooks chips. Model 62 is fitted with Rational¹s labour-saving CareControl system which indicates when the cooking cavity needs cleaning; all the operator has to do is insert a couple of special cleaning tablets. It also eliminates limescale problems so the steam generator always operates at optimum efficiency, which saves in running costs.

Suited to the smaller operation, hire market or where a high degree of portability is required, the single door model holds up to 60 standard 10² plates or 22 GN1/1 x 65mm deep Gastronorm containers. With four shelves and supports, the two-door version holds up to 108 standard 10² plates or 22 GN1/1 x 65mm deep Gastronorm containers.
