TNF reports record pre-season order book
T
he North Face has said it has taken record pre- season orders for its FW11 collection, and has now closed its EMEA books one month earlier than usual. It said the success was a result of a ‘dedicated service to its dealers’ that provides ‘industry-leading delivery performance to inspire high retail confidence’.
New and innovative product stories, a high sell- through in autumn 2010 and an increase in marketing investment in 2010-11 were also attributed to the high pre-season order book. Arne Arens, sales director for The North Face in the EMEA region, said: “We are thrilled with the confidence our retail partners are giving us. “We see this as a sign of our strong relationships in the market and the incredible momentum we are experiencing as a brand across Europe.”

B
rand Agility, the UK and Ireland
distributor for the Caribee range of backpacks and accessories, has added Yak Pak to its portfolio.
Yak Pak offers a range of
backpacks, school bags and other bag types.
Brand Agility said Yak Pak bags are ‘affordably priced for the budget conscious’, retailing from £19.99, yet offer fashionable and funky designs. Yak Pak products are popular in the US and Brand Agility said it is keen to replicate that success in the UK and Ireland.

Staff helped raise more than £2,500 through a cash collection and a discount sale of shoes, bags and accessories. This was followed by the AMG board donning superhero costumes for a day. AMG Group has a history of supporting
Comic Relief after supplying equipment to the 2009 Mount Kilimanjaro celebrity trek, which saw the likes of singers Gary Barlow and Cheryl Cole, radio DJs Chris Moyles and Fearne Cotton and performer Denise Van Outen, climb one of the world’s highest mountains. The board also undertook a fashion show to allow staff to see their costumes in full. AMG Group gave special mention to Alastair Moodie, director of sister company AMG Services, which recycles tents and provides spare parts, for coming as 'Recycle Man' and wearing an outfit made from different tent parts (pictured, far right). He was chosen as the winner of the 'Best Dressed Award'.
