We had a fabulous time in San Diego for the Mid-Year Conference! Department Presidents, I was so happy to celebrate 90% membership with each of you. Wasn’t the San Diego Zoo fantastic? We also transacted several important business items, including Life Membership payout changes and an update from the uniform committee. See more on Pages 4-10. We also debuted the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Commemorative Coin. Available from VFW Store at www.vfwstore.org, the coins are a wonderful way to say “Thank you” to active-duty soldiers. (See inset.) Hold one in your palm and shake the hand of a soldier, saying, “Thank you for your service.”


The Voice of Democracy event in Washington, D.C., is always
