tion: How much does it cost for these continuous Navy uniform changes, and who is paying for it? I see that the Navy now has cam- ouflage blue uniforms to wear at sea. What are they supposedly hiding from? I understand that the units must wear that funky looking hat and are not allowed to wear their unit ball caps, which is a blow to the unit morale, not to mention the extra money garnered for the welfare and recreation fund. … I understand that the current uni- form board is contemplating bring- ing back the officer’s dress khakis that were so nice-looking. Why were they ever discontinued? I vote for the dark blue working shirt and pants with the unit ball cap. They were a sharp-looking uniform. And while I’m voting, I vote to get rid of the navy uniform board on the grounds that it is a bureaucracy, and bureaucrats have to make changes in order to justify their jobs. —CWO Dean Ab-Hugh, USN-Ret.
