Scotland


1. Hal Rollason BSc FCOptom Hal is Chairman of FODO Scotland and a member of Glasgow Area Optometric Committee. He works part-time as a locum optometrist in Glasgow, and although providing general eyecare, he is particularly interested in diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, and dry eye management. He is past Chair of Optometry Scotland and continues to be closely involved with their work in professional development and legislative negotiations.


2. Lloyd Griffiths BSc MCOptom Lloyd graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2003. He has since worked as an optometrist at Dollond & Aitchison, covering a variety of stores in North Scotland. In October 2007, Lloyd opened up a new Dollond & Aitchison practice in Elgin, North Scotland.


3. Malcolm McPherson BSc MCOptom Malcolm is an independent optometrist practising in Aberdeen. He is Chairman of Grampian Area Optometric Committee and a member of NHS Grampian Area Clinical Forum. He also represents the College on the Optometry Scotland Council and Executive Committee. He has an interest in acute eyecare and has completed the university-based training to become an optometrist independent prescriber.


South East


4. Christian Dutton BSc MSc FCOptom Christian qualified at UMIST in 1998 and currently works as a resident optometrist for Asda in Hampshire. He completed a Masters degree in Clinical Optometry at City University in 2007 and is founder of the Tibet Healthcare Project.


5. Dr Kamlesh Chauhan PhD BSc MCOptom, Vice President and Trustee Kamlesh is Vice President of the College. He qualified in 1990 and has developed wide experience of optometry having worked in private and multiple optometric practice, hospital, university and industry. He is currently the Head of THE VISION CARE INSTITUTE™ at Johnson & Johnson Medical, UK. Kamlesh is a member of the Research and Education Committees and a College Trustee. Amongst other College roles Kamlesh is a College Examiner and sits on the Final Assessment Panel.


6. Rasmeet Chadha MCOptom Rasmeet qualified at The University of Manchester in 1998 and subsequently completed her MSc in Clinical Optometry at City University in 2008. She is currently Deputy Head of Optometry at Oxford Eye Hospital where she holds clinical, management and teaching responsibilities. Rasmeet is a part-time visiting Examiner for the University of Manchester and an external Assessor for the Welsh Eyecare Initiative in Low Vision.


7. Sanjay Patel BSc MCOptom, Trustee Sanjay qualified at UMIST in 1991 and currently works in high street practice as a joint venture partner. He sits on the Specsavers Professional Advancement Committee, and is the Chairman of DOCET.
