brokers New Chairman for NACFB

The Association has appointed Kevin Jones, of the Omega Group in Hertfordshire, as Chairman for 2011/12. Kevin has been compliance director of the Association for the past six years and was Deputy Chairman during 2009/2010. Following an election of the directors at its AGM at the Birmingham Metropole back in November, Kevin was appointed as Chairman at the first board meeting of the New Year.

Kevin Jones said, “I have worked within the banking and finance sector for the past 34 years, both lending and broking. Much of this time I have specialised within the commercial finance sector. It was during my time whilst lending that I first became involved with the NACFB as a Patron. I wanted to ensure that as centralised lenders if I dealt with the broker Market I was able to

ensure the calibre of the introductions. In 1992 I started Omega which has now become a sizeable brokerage specialising in commercial mortgages and more recently Asset based lending. I also run Commercial Processing UK which offers a genuine placement and processing back up to the B to B Market.

“Whilst working in the broker Market

I have seen many changes take place, however, I feel that the present Market conditions are probably the worst I have ever known and to survive brokers will need to expand their offering and services if they are to survive. There are still many opportunities out there for us all but we must find them. I am proud to have been a Director of the NACFB for the past six years and very much look forward to be Chair during 2010 & 2011 as well as having the opportunity of working with what I feel is a very strong Board of Directors who have many years experience and representing all sectors of the membership. We have already identified three major areas to target during the next 12 months being, training and education, increased member and patron numbers and membership benefits.”
