Beachcomber uniquely offers a Sport & Nature Programme – with mountain biking, trekking, canoeing and canyoning – to guests who want to get active. Horse riding is getting popular, and in 2009, The Maritim added an equestrian centre. Trail rides into the countryside or
along the beach can also be organised through centres such as Centre Equestre de la Louisa in Pamplemousses, who cater for children three and upwards. Picturesque domaines or sugar estates turned eco-playgrounds such as Domaine de L’Etoile offer activities including horse riding, trekking, quad or mountain biking, and archery. Quad biking at the Frederica Nature Reserve leads to a spectacular waterfall, and in Yemen at Casela Nature & Leisure Park, through an African-style savannah
