Dorma to launch intelligent door management system

launching a low cost, intelligent automatic door management system at Ecobuild 201 – the world’s biggest event for sustainable design, construction and the built environment and the UK’s largest construction event of any kind. Representing a breakthrough in door control, DORVISION allows clients to remotely monitor and manage their premises’ doors online via a secure online gateway, ensuring that they are always ready for business.

D Ideal for a wide range of

organisations, from transport facilities to large offices and shopping centres, DORVISION can be interfaced with any type of automatic door operator. A GPRS based wireless system, it is cleverly concealed within the door equipment. From there, it captures up to the minute data, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing the user with real-time remote handling functionality of the doors’ main controls.

Should a problem arise with any door fitted with DORVISION, it can be diagnosed remotely by the DORMA Service Team who will activate an immediate response. What’s more, a remote reset facility allows many problems

ORMA, the global market leader of door controls, automatics, glass and movable walls, will be

to be solved without the need for a service engineer to attend. Problems that do require an engineer can be identified in advance increasing the likelihood of a first time fix. So DORVISION can reduce engineer attendance lowering the carbon footprint of the door.

The system, which will be demonstrated by DORMA on stand number S530, also has the ability to provide SMS text message and email reporting direct to the customer should any problem arise with a door. As well as fault management, DORVISION monitors the performance of doors, reporting footfall trends that allow users to see how often the door is activated. In addition to being able to monitor footfall and self diagnose maintenance, DORVISION also provides users with a host of other intelligent building management attributes. This includes the option to remotely lock and unlock premises. When used in conjunction with electronic locks, DORVISION provides users with the ability to control the doors. Highly versatile, the system can be configured so that doors are automatically locked and unlocked at pre-set times of the

day. In addition, the system offers users the ability to remotely change the status of a door in an instant, allowing it to be locked or unlocked as desired. Suitable for new installations or retro- fitted to existing doors, DORVISION enables organisations and large estates to efficiently manage the status of every door on their premises from one remote location. Not only is this a cost effective answer to the control and watch of multiple entrances, it plays a key role in keeping large estates and organisations secure, with peace of mind a major benefit to building managers. www.dormashow.com
