Delta has appointed Nicolas Ferri (above) to the newly created position of vice president – Latin America and the Caribbean. Ferri is based in Atlanta and was previously vice president commercial at oneworld.
Southwest has named John Jamotta as its new vice president of network planning. Jamotta has been with the carrier for over 23 years, holding a senior director position in network planning for the past seven years.
Gatwick Airport has appointed Guy Stephenson as commercial director, responsible for leading the airport’s route development activity and the car parking business. Stephenson was previously commercial director for National Express’ coach business.
JAL is undergoing a major restructure, which has also seen the establishment of the new Managing Division of Route Marketing, which is responsible for formulating and executing the airline’s Route Profi tability Plan. Yoshiharu Ueki, senior managing executive offi cer will lead the new division. Other new appointments include Tetsuya Onuki, who will lead international route development and Tsutomu Ando, who will head up the division’s international alliance responsibilities.
Daniel Calleja, previously director for air transport at the European Commission, has taken up the role of deputy director general of DG Enterprise.

Bruce Ashby (above) will replace John McCulloch as chief executive of oneworld when the alliance moves its headquarters from Vancouver to New York, where it will share an offi ce with American, BA and other alliance members. Ashby was previously CEO of Sama Airlines, having also headed up IndiGo.
A mangement restructure at Brisbane Airport means that Cam Mcphee, general manager for aviation business development, now reports directly to the CEO. Mcphee’s team continues to consist of Jasper Spruit, airline development manager; Carla Hannaford, aviation business analyst and Kirsten Dunne, administration assistant, aviation business development.
Katie Bland has been appointed future hosts director for Routes events. She was previously Routes’ sales director, a role she held for fi ve and a half years. Former future events manager, Flavia Ferrandin, has moved to Lugano Airport, where she is commercial and marketing manager.
Matthew Hall has been appointed new chief commercial offi cer (CCO) at London City Airport, starting in March. He is currently vice president of airline & supplier business development for Travelport.
Jeffrey Goodell has been promoted from JetBlue’s director to vice president of government affairs. Goodell has been with the airline since 2007 and was previously vice president of government affairs for Sabre Holdings.
Tony Tyler (above) is leaving Cathay Pacifi c in March to head up IATA. Current IATA director general and CEO, Giovanni Bisignani, is retiring this year. John Slosar will become chief executive of Cathay.
Birmingham Airport has appointed Andy Davis as its new head of route development and he offi cially starts in the role in mid-February.
Thierry Antinori has been appointed chairman of Austrian Airlines and will take up his new post on April 1. Antinori was previously chief marketing offi cer at Lufthansa.
Air Berlin has named Uwe Berlinghoff as its new director of corporate communications. He replaces Peter Hauptvogel, who remains advisor to the board and in-house editor in chief of the airline’s magazine.
A management shake-up at Adria Airlines has seen Klemen Boštjančič being appointed CEO and Robert Vuga taking the reins as executive offi cer. They replace Tadej Tufek and Marjan Ravnikar.
Vishal Desai has been appointed manager – sales distribution at Virgin Atlantic in the UK. He was previously senior strategy analyst, commercial and his replacement is yet to be announced.
Routesonline has appointed Richard Maslen as editor of The Hub. Maslen was previously with Key Publishing, where he worked on a number of titles including Airliner World, Airports of the World and Airliner Classics.
