Snap-on Tools Reveals Another Record Sales Year

For 2010 Snap-on Tools, UK brand leader in tools, tool storage and workshop equipment for the automotive Aftermarket, has announced record sales for 2010, with a sales increase of 7.3% over 2009. “Today we are clear brand leaders in the UK automotive tools market with a commanding market share,” says Aldo Rodi, Snap-on Tools UK Managing Director, who took over the post in April from retiring Terry Barcham in what the Company describe as a seamless transition. His previous role of UK Sales Director was taken over in July by Phil Nassau.

“I am delighted to say that the Snap-on sales network in the UK achieved record sales for 2010, well over the psychological figure of £100 million. This is the fourth consecutive year where our sales have achieved record levels, as well as currency adjusted profits. “Once again our diagnostics sales grew strongly and underpinned our success. In fact sales in every product group – tool boxes, hand tools, power tools and hand- held diagnostics equipment – have all exceeded their previous highest levels. Our Snap-on franchisee network has now reached its highest level ever and can be congratulated for showing a remarkable resilience in difficult market conditions.

“Milestones for 2010 included the 20,000th UK sale of our CTU6850 Cordless Impact Gun, the 10,000th UK sale of our SOLUS PRO mid-range hand-held diagnostic tool –which was introduced in May 2008 – as well as in April the opportunity to welcome the 25,000th paying attendee at one of our highly successful TechEd diagnostic seminars. “Snap-on’s continued success evidences progress with our strategic approach to service as many of our automotive customers as possible. We recognise that connecting with our customers by providing appropriate tooling and diagnostics solutions programmes and ensuring a high level of customer service provides a proposition that our customers truly value. Our franchise network which has grown again in 2010, coupled with a regular weekly call cycle means that a Snap-on solution is never far away from our customers. Whilst 2011 will prove challenging our focus on meeting our customers’ needs will continue to provide Snap-on with a winning formula.”
