WATER HEATING MARKET REPORT

Grand Hall www.eternalwaterheater.com

Trends: The trend is away from mid efficiencies (75-84%) and a transition into condensing technologies (86%+). The traditional, inefficient tanks (.52EF) will start to go away even on spec homes or common projects. There is definitely a push for more technology so contractors will have to be better acquainted with new solutions. In other words, even a tank will need to be plugged in soon. Company News: Grand Hall has

had a great growth year and now contractors are starting to ask about the Eternal Hybrid. As a result, it has doubled its service team and will be adding more team members to our outside sales force, as well. Water Heating Market Outlook:

Peerless Boilers www.peerlessboilers.com

With mandated efficiency codes, the water heater market should at least equal 2010, if not exceed. Especially for high efficiency equipment manufacturers like Eternal, the company is still growing. I see the primary growth in commercial and light commercial markets as the residential tax credit goes away. Businesses will always need more cost-effective hot water solutions.

The new GU195M for the Eternal Condensing Hybrid Water encompasses an impressive 98+ percent efficiency while allowing multiple water heating units to be linked and common vented, with a maximum of eight units per group. Ideal for heavy commercial use that needs redundancy, the GU195M controls enable a single unit to automatically shut down in case of a failure while the others continue to operate with no cold water bleed through.

Trends: Solar geothermal products will continue to grow in the marketplace, especially as long as the strong rebate/grant programs remain in place to incentivize their installation. The much larger market will be for high efficiency water heating, whether it be direct or indirect fired. There is a fantastic opportunity for our high efficiency offerings in this marketplace. There is another opportunity in conjunction with the solar/geo products and that is as a back up or supplemental appliance to provide a fossil fuel system that integrates the best of both systems. Company News: PB Heat will be offering training programs

The PUREFIRE® direct vent, sealed

combustion boiler has an ultra-high efficiency of up to 97.3% (residential), while the commercial-sized PF- 399 boiler offers a combustion efficiency of 95.5%.

at its newly upgraded Training Center in Boyertown, Pa. The center will have operating boilers for hands-on training, as well as classroom facilities for a complete program that will train boiler and water heating contractors. Water Heating Market Outlook: The entrance of new

higher efficiency water heating boilers to the market will be sustained. This is due to the need for consumers in the residential and commercial sectors to upgrade their equipment. Government incentives will remain, but at a lower level, and will continue to contribute to lowering the cost of new installations.
