but it’s not worried us too much. It has mostly caused a slight difficulty for customers getting to us and a very wet floor! I think it’s more the freezing temperatures than the snow that’s put people off round here. Trade is a little bit down from last year but ticking over nicely. Calendars are selling fantastically as are our canvas prints. We have the latter on half price, as we do every Christmas, and they’re really flying. We’ve recently had some new Fuji kit installed including a D450 dry lab. Customers love the quality and the new range of products we can now offer like panoramic prints. We also now offer photo gift ordering from our kiosks, which customers have really embraced - they love it. They’re ordering a much wider variety of products because they can now do it themselves. We also have a new instant photobook maker and have upgraded our large format provision from 24” to 44” and moved it out on to the shop floor where our customers can see it in action, which is certainly raising awareness of what can be done. In the New Year we will be holding VAT on standard processing with Fujifilm - we’re a FDIS shop so we benefit from the deals they offer and the promotion they do around them. We’ll have window posters announcing that and will probably put something in the local paper about it too. That’s one thing we have done differently this year: we have advertised everything related to

Christmas, all our deals, products and special offers, anything which could prove popular like our studio and the fact you can order prints through Facebook. Everything seasonal, basically! And we’ve seen the benefits straight away. We’ve really gone to town on marketing and it’s made a huge difference for us. Winning a Pixel Trade Award in October was brilliant. We’ve put our award winner logo on all our marketing, our website and will continue to do for as long as we hold the title. We’re really proud
of it and the response from our customers has been amazing. Of course we always aim to give great service and offer our customers everything they want, so it’s lovely to be recognised with this award. We’ve been here twenty plus years now, and have some very loyal customers. When we announced our Pixel Award win, they came in with cards, chocolates, bottles of wine - it’s been overwhelming. Fujifilm Digital Imaging Services as a brand also won a Pixel Trade Award, so there may be a knock-
on benefit from that too. We do sell hardware like cameras and accessories, and they’ve been steady. We’re offering some good deals in conjunction with Swains and they’re selling well, plus we always up-sell accessory kits with cameras, which is an easy add-on for us. We’ve just had our new kit and changes, so we haven’t got much planned for new things in the New Year - just try to keep it up!
Happy Christmas!
