News BASEC BRINGS MESSAGE TO TRINIDAD

The British Approvals Service for Cables (BASEC), in collaboration with Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standards (TTBS) and Electrical Industries Limited (EIL), recently hosted a series of workshops to electrical professionals and

customs officials working in Trinidad and Tobago.

The event provided valuable information on national and international standards for electrical cables and the importance of cable approval systems in

maintaining electrical safety. Jeremy Hodge, chief executive of BASEC, said: ‘We were pleased to work closely with TTBS and EIL to raise awareness in Trinidad and Tobago to help users specify safe approved cable. The workshops have

been a great way to communicate important facts to users, electricians and contractors working with and specifying cables on a day to day basis and regulators who need the knowledge to recognise counterfeit or unsafe cable products.’
