...On the Radio All games during the 2010-2011 basketball season can be heard on Talk 1300 AM The Capital District’s Talk Radio. The move back to Talk 1300 (prior to the 2009-10 season) enables the basketball program to take advantage of the fastest growing AM radio station in the Capital Region. For the second straight season, Siena games will also be simulcast on WWSC 1450 in Glens Falls and Time Warner Cable.


For the ninth consecutive season, Robert Lee will call the action for the Saints’ games both home and away, after serving as the voice of the Siena women’s basketball and football teams from 2000-02. Lee is a 1999 graduate of Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Com- munication where he served as the sports director for WAER-FM providing the play-by-play for the Orange basket- ball, football and lacrosse teams. He also served as an intern for WCPO-TV in his native Cincinnati during the summer of 1997. In the summer of 1999 he was the voice of the Butte Copper Kings in Butte, Montana and in the summer of 2000 he broadcasted for the Dubois County Dragons of the Frontier League.


Lee served as a sports information/marketing assistant in the department from September of 2000 through October of 2001. In addition to serving as the play-by-play voice for the Saints, Lee held several minor league baseball jobs, most recently with the Albany-Colonie Diamond Dogs in the summer of 2001. A jack-of-all trades, Lee broadcasts various Capital Region sporting events on Time Warner Cable, including: high school football, world team tennis,


indoor soccer, the annual Saratoga Yearling Sale, high school football and Siena volleyball and basketball.


Lee will be joined in the booth by color-man Tom Huerter. Huerter enters his 14th year as a member of the Saints’ broadcast team. The Ballston Lake, N.Y. native, is a 1991 graduate of Siena with a degree in finance. He played four years for the Saints, from 1987-91, and was a member of the 1989 NCAA Tournament team. During his four-year career, Huerter averaged 6.6 points and 2.9 rebounds while playing in 114 games.


The Siena basketball radio show will air weekly through the season on 88.3 WVCR “The Saint on Thursday’s between 6-7 p.m. “The Saint” opened a brand new studio and expanded its power to 35,000 watts as it made its full-time move to the state-of-the-art Sarazen Student Union on the Siena campus in 2003. Lee will co-host the show with women’s basketball play-by-play voice Mike Demos, which features interviews and insight from men’s coach Mitch Buonagura and women’s coach Gina Castelli.
