A number of attractions had still to open at the time of the press preview in late October, although many are expected to debut soon. The two main “late arrivals” will be Flying Over Italy and V12.

The world’s largest indoor theme park is now open. Park World steps inside the huge confines of Ferrari World Abu Dhabi


he eagerly-awaited attraction was due to welcome its first paying guests on November 4, a week later than planned due to the death on October 27 of the ruler of Ras AL Khaimah, after which the entire United Arab Emirates (UAE) entered a period of mourning.


Now in soft opening phase, the park’s huge 200,000 square metre structure, emblazoned with the Ferrari logo, will be visible to millions of television viewers around the world this month during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which takes place just metres away at the Yas Marina Circuit. Featuring 20 rides and attractions – including the world’s fastest rollercoaster – Ferrari World Abu Dhabi brings the Italian racing marque to life in spectacular fashion. Not only is it the first Ferrari theme park anywhere in the world, it is also the first attraction on this scale, other than a waterpark, to be realised in the UAE. The park was developed by local land owner Aldar Properties and run by Farah Leisure Parks, a joint venture between Aldar and the US-based ProFun Management.
