Drop anchor in the secluded harbor of Portoferraio, Elba, settled by the Greeks in the 10th century BC, and home to an exiled Napoleon Bonaparte. Visit the house he shared with his sister in 1814, the Palazzina dei Mulini, and stop for a taste of the grape at a family-owned Elba winery – a special Tauck experience adds to the fun. Enjoy free time in Porto Azzurro; sights include a fortress built in 1603 and the Old Quarter bustling with hints of the past. Spend the afternoon at leisure before returning to the ship – Le Ponant sails for Nice on the Côte d’Azur. Meals BLD


9. DISEMBARK NICE / SAINT-PAUL-DE-VENCE Disembark Le Ponant in Nice this morning, where the seaside Promenade des Anglais borders some beautiful beaches along the French Riviera. Travel next to the medieval village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence for a walking tour that introduces centuries of history, chronicled in the architectural treasures that are found along its storied streets. Arrive in Monte-Carlo mid-afternoon, where the remainder of the day is free; your hotel is located in the heart of Monte-Carlo, close to the casino. Meals B
