Pensord managers step up to the mark
At Pensord we have a clearly defined set of values by which we all work. In 2008 we encapsulated these values to create a bespoke management training programme to ensure our team leaders had the skills to deliver a first class service in keeping with our unique customer first culture. Following the MBO, our managers are taking on more responsibility, confident that their new skills will hold them in good stead for the challenges ahead.
We recognised that to sustain our progress at Pensord, we needed to develop the future leaders within the company, to ensure that we retained our unique culture, and to develop them as individuals themselves.
We have been running our bespoke Leadership and Management Development Programme since October 2008 to support and develop managers in the company, based on what we ourselves identified as good management practice at Pensord, and that process of continual improvement is ongoing.
Here are the views of two of our managers who have benefited:
Gareth Williams, newly promoted to Customer Care Manager “I started the management course as a Team Leader, and have now emerged as a well equipped Pensord Manager. My development

has been gradual and is ongoing, and it’s given me the foundations I needed, ensuring I’m cut out for management, and that management is also right for me. It’s made me more open to change, and given me more responsibility to do what needs to be done, to question everything about the quality of what we produce here, and to make sure customers get the service they deserve from us.”
Brennig Bayliss, Shift Performance Manager “I believe the whole management team is up for the challenge we now face at an exciting and adventurous time for the company. The proof of the pudding will be in the eating, but we’ve been preparing for eventualities such as this. I’m so glad that ownership is being kept in-house, with people who know the business inside out and have their heart in it.
The management team is well equipped to give them the support they need.
