Colleagues and partners endorse the MBO
News of the MBO has been well received. But this is only the first chapter of the new beginning at Pensord. Here is a selection of comments which typify the sense of confidence everyone has for the future under the new leadership team.
Theresa Price, Despatch Clerk “Darren and Karl will be really good for the business, as both are very switched on to what we can achieve here at Pensord. It’s an exciting time and I wish them all the best. I think we’ll carry on doing well.”
Phil Price, Folder Operator “Tony always made it clear to us that he was here for a limited period, and that he would move on when the time was right. But I must admit I was a little surprised, as this came out of the blue. I think the way it was done was in all our best interests, and I’m delighted to see the present management continuing in their new roles. Having served under them, I understand how they work, and what they’re capable of, and I have total confidence in them.”
Andy Todd, Perfect Binding Operator “I was on holiday when the management buyout was announced, and the boys here texted me the news. I was

surprised, but I believe it’s a good thing – we have confidence in Darren and Karl and it’s looking good for the future.”
Stewart Matthias, Printer “It’s great that people from within who we trust have taken over the ownership of the company. We are confident in the abilities of Darren and Karl, and don’t really foresee any real changes, as we’re going along very nicely at the moment.”
Sheryl Fears, Receptionist “I’m sad to see Graham and Tony go, as I’ve always had a great rapport with them, but change always brings something new, and we have great confidence in the new team, and we can look forward to a really bright future at Pensord.”
Keith Parsons, Pre-Press Operator “I believe Darren and Karl will continue in very much the same vein and management style as Tony. We can be confident from the way they’ve handled things so far.”
Colin Watson, Presshall Overseer “I’m so pleased that control stays inside the company with people who know it inside out. Tony did a marvellous job here, he put us in such a great position, and we’re disappointed to see him going, but the new team will I’m sure run things in a similar way, and that is great news for the company.”
Sian Drobac, Paper Buyer “I wasn’t really surprised as Tony always said he would move on once he’d made a success of the company. I really respect Tony, and will miss him, but this is an exciting new beginning, and there are lots of plans. I believe we’ll continue to do well.”
Jane Smith, Title Manager “I’m really pleased for Darren and Karl, but that’s tinged with sadness that Tony is leaving. He did a fantastic job here, but we knew it wouldn’t last forever, but we are confident in the new team as they’ve been so involved here over the years and they’ll bring their own skills to the job.”
