Municipal and Commercial Caster Neenah Emerges From Bankruptcy Neenah Enterprises Inc., Neenah,


Wis., announced it has successfully emerged from bankruptcy under new equity ownership. Earlier this month, Neenah received


confirmation of its plan of reorganiza- tion from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington, Del. The company has reduced its debt by more than $270 million and transitioned to a new ex- ecutive management team. “We are pleased to have emerged


from bankruptcy in less than six months,” said Rich Caruso, a managing director for Huron Consulting Services LLC who is serving as Neenah’s acting chief execu- tive officer. “Neenah’s reputation, strong workforce, customers and vendor com- munity were a critical aspect to formulat- ing a plan of reorganization that greatly enhances our competitive position.” On Feb. 3, Neenah and its subsidiar- (continued on page 14)

ProMetal, Sikorsky Win Prototyping Award The ProMetal Rapid Casting Technol-


ogy Division (RCT) of The Ex One Co., Troy, Mich., and Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., Stratford, Conn., recently won an award for collaborating on a 50% reduction in lead time on a magnesium sand casting. According to a press release issued


by the company, RCT won the award by producing defect free parts for Sikor- sky using digital metalcasting molds. The award was given to the companies by the Vertical Flight Society of the American Helicopter Society. RCT and Sikorsky won the Robert L.


Pinckney Award, given in recognition of notable achievement in manufac- turing research and development for rotorcraft or rotorcraft components. The award was created by The Boeing Company in 1995 to honor the memory of Pinckney, a manufacturing engineer. To complete the award-winning proj-
