The Naturist returns!
The Naturist’ series presented by Teva became an online viral video hit last year – and now Teva’s second ‘season’ is live after launching August 5th.
The Naturist is a backcountry survival ‘expert’ played by former Vice Magazine editor and
StreetCarnage.com creator, Gavin McInnes and produced by Decon Creative Group. As the Naturist, McInnes offers highly questionable advice on how to survive the perils of the outdoors.
“I tried to hibernate back in September ’09 by self-prescribing anesthetics, and I just woke up,” says the Naturist. “Anyways, I’m back to drop some more natural knowledge on everyone.” This season features advice on everything from building a bed in the backcountry, to lightweight layering with household items, with predictably calamitous results for the Naturist. A new addition this year is original music for the videos written and performed by Stefan Lessard, bassist for Dave Matthews Band.
“The original Naturist series was a big success for Teva last year and the second season is even more entertaining, ” states Teva director of global marketing, Joel Heath. “The videos are fun, branded content that provide terrific exposure for our new MXT shoe collection.”
As reported in SGB Outdoor last issue, RuffWear has a new distributor – but their old distributor wanted to say goodbye! After five enjoyable years, Rosker decided at the beginning of 2010 to discontinue distributing RuffWear in the UK and Ireland in order to better focus on its other core brands. Rosker would like to wish RuffWear every success with new distributor
Jack Wolfskin’s European expansion forges ahead with a new store opened in London in August.
This is the UK’s second opening of a Jack Wolfskin monobrand store, and further stores are planned. “The centrally located Westfield Centre London is one of the British capital’s best shopping addresses and is a real crowd puller,“ says Manfred Hell, CEO and co-owner of Jack Wolfskin. “We are delighted to be represented in such a high-quality brand environment.“ The opening of the store in the centre will be accompanied by various LED and LCD displays and a traffic board campaign.
