Global Conference on Care
JARKARTA, Indonesia: After more than two years of planning, Tommy and Poppi Smith hosted a Global Conference on Care at the Sentul International Convention Center outside of Jakarta earlier this year. Poppi served as the general secretary for the event and organized the registration process, and thanks to a generous donation from the Lazarus Foundation and the Division of Care, prepared the travel, housing and ground transportation details for more than 3,200 pastors and benevolence workers from across the Indonesian archipelago. For three days more than 7,000 registered delegates from Indonesia, South Africa, Singapore, Hong Kong, Cambodia, China, Taiwan, the Caribbean, and the United States participated in the eight general sessions and 20 clinics. Each evening, 9,000 persons attended the revival celebrations and listened to the anointed preaching of Dr. Raymond Culpepper and Dr. Niko Njotorahardjo. Pastor Niko challenged the delegates to break the chains of poverty by giving. Dr. Donnie Smith, of the Division of Care, assembled an international group of experts and practitioners in compassion ministries to share in the clinics and general sessions, dealing with aspects of benevolence and care, including disaster relief, community development, chaplaincy, and AIDS ministries.
3 Training in Ireland
IRELAND: Wanderson and Jesana Machado are missionaries to Belgium. Wanderson writes, “For the last several months we have dedicated some of our weekends to training our pastors in Ireland. The work has grown and the evidence of the necessity for better preparation is clear now. The church leaders in Ireland have asked for urgent help and support. We’ve prepared a team and are with them every month for intensive training sessions. Our goal is that through appropriate training, thousands of people can be reached for Christ in that country. It’s amazing to see the hunger for learning that our dear brothers in Ireland express!”

1 Thanks, Teams!
RIO VIEJO, Honduras: Missionary doctor, Martin Williams, and his wife, Wendy, hosted several U.S teams recently who helped paint and otherwise improve the clinic and out buildings. Work teams are valuable to the missions enterprise!
