The IBC exhibition takes place at the Rai Centre in Amsterdam from September 10-14. Digital TV Europe takes a look at some of the products on offer this year.

WHAT’S SHOWING? HbbTV; ANT Galo Suite


WHAT DO THEY DO? ANT will showcase a live demon- stration of HbbTV and the ANT Galio Suite at IBC. A live demon- stration of deployed HbbTV appli- cations and services from Germany, including catch-up pro- gramming from ARD and ZDF, video-on-demand from Tageschau, ARD digital text and Bayerische Runfunk radio applica- tions, will be on show. ANT says its Galio HbbTV Platform is the first solution to be commercially deployed, with a launch into the German retail market in December 2009. ANT will also highlight the capabilities of the ANT Galio Platform, which it says delivers user experiences with smooth animations and transition effects on hardware using open standards.

WHAT’S SHOWING? Flux capture and preprocessing cards; live adaptive streaming encoders; encoding and transcod- ing for file-based workflows


WHAT DO THEY DO? Flux HD boards are the first cards optimised for encoding and streaming to feature dual-link and 3G-SDI input support, according to Digital Rapids. Working in con- junction with the Digital Rapids Stream software, Flux cards enable real-time, multi-format media capture, encoding and streaming for applications includ- ing post production, internet TV,


IPTV, VOD, mobile video, archive and more. StreamZHD Live ABR encodes and streams live HD and SD content for delivery through adaptive streaming technologies including HTTP Dynamic Streaming for Adobe Flash Player. For multi-channel, enterprise- class deployments, multiple StreamZHD Live ABR encoders can be combined with the Digital Rapids Broadcast Manager soft- ware for management, automa- tion, scheduling, monitoring and failover. A new version of Broadcast Manager will be unveiled, with new features including automation for an expanded range of third-party video routers to manage incom- ing sources. Adaptive streaming capabilities will also be featured
